Pay attention:
In Portuguese, there are three forms of syllabic accentuation. They are:
a) Oxítonas-syllable accent falls on the last syllable
Exs.: Sofa, coffee; Jiló; caracara, Paul, etc. Amen.
b) paroxitone-syllable accent falls on the penultimate syllable
Exs.: Ether; taxi; virus; album, thorax, etc. Kind.
c) Proparoxítonas-syllable accent falls on the penultimate syllable
Exs. Physician; lamp; tear cup etc..
OBS.: Classification oxítona, paroxytone proparoxítona and applies only to words with more than one syllable.
